Week 16: Mid-Program Reflection

Welcome to Week 16 — a milestone. We've reached the end of our second phase together, and it's time to pause and look back before moving forward.

Why Reflection Matters

Somatic practice can be easy to underestimate in the moment — a five-minute breath practice or a body scan doesn't always feel dramatic while you're doing it. It's often only in looking back over weeks that the cumulative shift becomes visible: a wider window of tolerance, a richer vocabulary for your experience, new tools reached for automatically in a hard moment.

This week has no new technique to learn. Instead, it's a structured pause to take stock of what's actually changed.

This Week's Practice

Practice 1: The Fifteen-Week Review

Look back over the topics from Weeks 1–15: grounding, breath, sensation language, the nervous system, orienting, resourcing, PMR, rest, body mapping, discharge, freeze, co-regulation, boundaries, self-touch, and vagal toning. For each, jot a quick note: Did I try this? What did I notice? Do I still use it?

Practice 2: Your Personal Top Three

From everything you've practiced, identify the three tools that have been most useful to you so far. Write down why, specifically, and how you use them.

Practice 3: Where You've Grown

Write a few sentences about any shift you've noticed in these fifteen weeks — in your stress recovery, your body awareness, your relationships, or simply your relationship with your own body. Be specific if you can.

What to Watch For

  • Genuine, if subtle, differences in how you respond to stress compared to sixteen weeks ago
  • Practices you expected to love that didn't stick, and ones you didn't expect to matter that did
  • Patterns you're still working on, without judgment — this is a long practice, not a sixteen-week fix
  • A sense of what you want more of in the phase ahead

A Note on Starting Where You Are

If you feel like you've "fallen behind" or missed weeks, this is not a program with a passing grade. Whatever you've practiced, however inconsistently, counts. Use this reflection as a genuine check-in, not a report card.

Looking Ahead

Next week, we begin a new phase: emotions in the body. We'll explore how feelings like anger, sadness, anxiety, and joy actually live in physical sensation — and how to work with them there.

Sixteen weeks in, you're still here. That matters. Start where you are. 🌿
